It has been busy year, including a baby, a Brexit, and a bon voyage! The Bank of England decided in August to cut the base rate for the first time in 7 years, to an historic low of 0.25%, and throughout the year we’ve seen interest rates for mortgage products reduce to a point that I’d never have predicted. There are still some great options out there, so if you or anyone you know has not looked at your arrangements for a while, I suggest that now is a great time. Please call or e-mail so that we can look for your most suited option.
As the nights drew in, and the clocks were set back, the time arrived to say Bon Voyage to Yvette. Her departure is a significant change for our team, and she will be very much missed. For the last 3 ½ years she’s been sat to my left side, having joined the company as an 18 year old apprentice straight from school. During that time we’ve both grown personally, as has the business. She’s supported me through some key events, most obviously the arrival of my two sons, the first of which was born only 6 weeks after she started work. As I write she is with her boyfriend Jordan in India, the first of many countries they plan to visit, hopefully enjoying their brilliant adventure.
We were joined in November by Anthea Whitehead, who benefitted from a couple of weeks ‘basic training’ with Yvette, and continues to be supported. In addition to being kept busy in the office, Anthea is also busy at home with two boys aged 8 and 9, and a daughter aged 3. After some time out looking after the family, Anthea felt that the time was right for a fresh challenge, and we’re delighted that she’s chosen join our small team.
What of the future?
The business will celebrate a 10th birthday next year, but we are still actively looking for ways in which to improve upon what we already do, and also find ways to add further value and support for clients. If you have any ideas, then please do let me know.
Having completed his apprenticeship, and achieved his CeMAP qualifications back in the summer, Will is keen to broaden / develop his role, and I’ll support him in doing so. I am also hoping to recruit additional team members in 2017, and when that happens I’ll let you know who they are, plus what they’ll be doing and why.
And Finally …
Before ‘signing off’ for 2016, I want to say huge thanks for your support. We’re always delighted that so many clients choose to work with us again and again, and very grateful that so much of our work comes through recommendation. I wish you and your family and friends a very Happy Christmas, and a prosperous 2017, and really hope to hear from you soon.
