Our clients, and the relationship that we have with them, is at the centre of everything our team do. A client told me many years ago shortly before the firm was established, “You’re not like a normal advisor, you’re like a mate who knows this sort of stuff” and that’s the way I want everyone that works with us to feel. Each year I send a couple of letters to keep in touch, and importantly to say thank you, and here’s our thoughts for Christmas 2014.
Expanding our reach – in more ways than one.
So, another year seems to have passed by in a flash, and unbelievably the Christmas and New Year celebrations are almost upon us once again!
It’s been another busy year for me and for our recently expanded team here at Moving Experience, and there’s more on that later. Following on from our last letter in the Summer, I’d like to say a big thank you to the many people who provided positive feedback to me, upon my return from my trip down-under, regarding Yvette’s customer service. She did an amazing job helping to manage things whilst I was thousands of miles away.
During the year, and in particular the last 6 months, you may have noticed us cropping up more frequently in Twitter feeds, Facebook timelines, and e-mail inboxes. It continues to fill me with pride that by far our greatest source of new clients is recommendations. The aim is to take a more consistent approach to promoting the business. We want to help customers develop a greater understanding of our areas of expertise, and (importantly) why we’re so passionate about what we do. I’m hoping that these communications will mean that we’re able to offer better value and increased knowledge to existing customers, as well as potential clients, making us even easier to recommend. Thanks very much to Laura for her help with this.
Now that Yvette has successfully completed her Apprenticeship, and things are continuing to keep us busy here, we felt we needed to recruit another Administrator. In November, Will O’Hara joined the team as our new Apprentice to support Yvette and I. He seems to be enjoying things so far, although I think he may have stumbled into an extra challenge that wasn’t on the original job spec, as you’ll see below.
Looking ahead to events in 2015, I was delighted to announce this month that we will be supporting the Jessie May ‘Caring @ work’ scheme. We’re committed to fundraising for this great charity that does such wonderful work supporting families in the South West by providing hospice care for children at home, among other valuable services. The aims of the charity align very well with our passion for helping families to cope with difficult and unexpected circumstances. Our first fundraising event is the Vitality Bath Half Marathon in March and the whole team’s taking part. We have already started training and you can follow our progress on our blog. If you would like to sponsor us as we plough through the wind and rain please visit our Virgin Giving page.
As ever I’d like to thank you for your ongoing support and take this opportunity to wish you, your friends, and family a fantastic Christmas, and a very happy New Year. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
